Drill A Well In Your Own Backyard! Are you one of those people who has always wanted your own well… But could never afford it? Are you tired of paying huge monthly bills and dealing with restrictions and limits to your water supply? Would you like your own source of virtually free, pure, fresh water? This new system is unlike any you’ve ever seen before; it doesn’t involve derricks and trucks, it doesn’t involve heavy steel pipe, it doesn’t involve endless hammering and pounding, and it doesn’t involve thousands of dollars worth of special equipment. You don’t need to be a mechanical genius and you don’t have to have bulging muscles like Rambo. In fact, most of the work is so easy a child can do it! Most of the components will fit in a checked suitcase, making it ultra portable! It works like this: a small but powerful air-powered drill is attached to the end of a length of 1 PVC pipe. The drill turns a specially designed drill bit which cuts the hole. Now comes the cool part: the exhaust from the air tool is ejected up the back side of the drill, and up into the pipe. This creates a vacuum at the back of the drill, which sucks water into the pipe. This water is then blown up the pipe and out on the ground, which in turn creates a new vacuum, which sucks in water, which gets pumped out… We have a pumping system to remove tailings from our well! Water is added to the hole from a local source such as a hose or 55 gallon drums but it does NOT have to be pressurized! Its only job is to dilute the tailings in the hole, the air exhaust from the drill is what does the pumping. The pipe itself never twists, only the bit at the very end of the pipe turns. And since this system IS so simple, and since there are so few parts to this system it is incredibly inexpensive when compared to every other home well drilling system on the market, which often cost several thousand dollars! This drilling system can drill through rock, clay, sand, and any strata that is drill-able. Of course, like any rig, rocks and clay will slow it down substantially. And there are some types of strata that even the big rigs have trouble drilling, such as glacial murrain (a lot of small rocks varying in size between a thumb and a toaster). Obviously, if the big rigs can’t drill it, neither can we. But if a home drilling system can drill it, ours will do it for a fraction of the cost of the other systems out there. And there are ways to work around glacial murrain in many cases, so talk to me if that may be an issue for you. This kit comes with a deluxe bit for 4″ casing (actual bit size is 5.75″) which is the best bit we have been able to design after 20 years of testing. Made of hardened steel with a special carbide-matrix hard surfacing, it rarely needs sharpened or replaced. Also included is our Make-Your-Own-Wellscreen Tool, which allows you to make all the wellscreen you want for only the cost of a piece of 4 pipe! Tailstock Sliding Tap/Die Holder, South Bend, Atlas Lathe. A tailstock tap/die holder should be among the first accessories a machinist makes for his lathe, since threading with a hand-held die stock, or holding a tap in a collet is seldom satisfactory. This Tailstock Tap/Die Holder will cut threads with either a tap or a die using a hand held holder that slides on a tailstock mounted arbor. Releasing ones grip allows the tap or die to rotate on the arbor with the spindle. For larger threads that cannot be hand held a stop handle that bears against the lathe compound prevents rotation as the threads are cut. The photos below show this procedure. I now have an INSTRUCTIONAL VIDEO available. To see for yourself I suggest you check my feedback and read some of the remarks. Below is a photo of the seven (7) pieces that make up the complete Tailstock Tap/Die Holder. The seven (7) pieces are as follows. Tailstock Arbor with #2 Morse Taper, 5/8 arbor diameter. Sliding Knurled Sleeve, 1-1/8 diameter with 5/8 thru bore. Small Tap Chuck, #0 to 1/4 tap capacity. Large Tap Chuck, #12 to 1/2 tap capacity. Small Die Holder, 13/16 die diameter. Large Die Holder, 1 die diameter. Threaded Stop Handle, fits the sliding knurled sleeve. The two Tap Chucks grip the tap by the taps square like inserting a tap in a hand held tap wrench. All small taps from #6 and under have the same size shank and square. So this tool will accommodate all taps #000 to 1/2. Tapping or die threading is relatively easy. As with any threading, liberal use of cutting oil is recommended along with a slow spindle speed. For the smaller sizes the hand held knurled sleeve, with the tap or die installed, is pushed into the work piece, as the thread starts, the spindle rotation draws the tap or die towards the head stock cutting the thread. When the thread bottoms or comes to the designated length of thread, the operator releases his grip and the knurled sleeve, along with the tap or die rotates with the spindle until the lathe is stopped. Reversing the spindle backs the tap or die out toward the tailstock as the knurled sleeve is again gripped by the operators hand. For larger taps and dies, that cannot be hand held because of the torque, the threaded stop handle is inserted in the knurled sleeve. The stop handle, by resting on the compound prevents the sleeve from rotating and the tap or die cut the thread. Same as would be done when hand holding. When using the stop handle tap breakage or die damage is very possible. Care must be taken and the operators hand should constantly be on the on-off-reversing switch. With care it becomes quite simple and damage is easily avoided. A good safety precaution when using the stop handle is to not hold the workpiece too tightly in the 3-jaw chuck or collet. Then, if the tap or die bottoms, the workpiece will rotate in the chuck or collet preventing breakage of the tap or die. Operating at the slowest speed is recommended. I’ve done a lot of tapping and die threading of Stainless Steel, Mild CRS, 12L14, Brass, Aluminum, and plastics on my 9 South Bend and I’ve yet to break a tap or damage a die. I want you to be pleased with this fine tool. Note for small lathe owners: I now have #1 Morse Taper arbors available for owners of lathes with a #1 MT tailstock like some of the old Craftsman and Atlas lathes. Zwei Keilriemen sind für eine Rüttelplatte absolut ungeeignet , da die Keilriemenspannung einzig und allein über Gummipuffer gehalten wird und sich bei zwei Keilriemen trotz geringerer Spannung pro Keilriemen hieraus eine größere Neigung der Oberplatte ergibt, was wiederum zu erhöhtem Verschleiß führt, da die Keilriemen über die Kanten der Riemenscheibe laufen. Bei zwei Keilriemen werden die Motor- und Erregerlager durch den größeren Abstand zum Lager (Hebelgesetz) stärker belastet. Um zwei Keilriemen richtig zu spannen, benötigt man folglich die doppelte Spannkraft. Dies wiederum belastet die Gummipuffer, welche die Oberplatte und die Bodenplatte schwingungstechnisch entkoppeln, zu stark. Dies führt zum frühen versagen der Gummipuffer.
